Fungal Growth Physicochemical Properties Inhibition by Novel Zinc Oxide/ Glutinous Tapioca Starch Composite

Mango suffers from numerous diseases throughout its life due to fungal growth. Primarily, mango is infected with anthracnose, a disease caused by Collectotrichum gloeosporioides. In the present study, fruits were coated zinc oxide (ZnO) and tapioca starch solution at different concentrations stored room temperature for week. The growth of any black spots on outer surface fruit peel was observed two-day intervals. mixed coating material, consisting ZnO starch, inhibited field-emission scanning microscope (FESEM) results demonstrated that nanoparticles uniformly samples. Applying also effectively maintained quality attributes extended shelf fruits. Consequently, could be an alternative safe technique protecting against anthracnose infection, hence prolonging freshness avoiding economic losses during transportation, marketing, storage.
